How we help with Depression

Depression in seniors is often overlooked as “just aging,” but it’s a treatable condition. Our depression therapy combines psychotherapy, lifestyle adjustments, and (when needed) collaboration with physicians for medication management. We focus on the root causes—loneliness, chronic illness, or unresolved life regrets—using CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) to challenge negative thought patterns and behavioral activation to reintroduce joy. For seniors with physical limitations, we adapt exercises to their abilities, emphasizing small, achievable goals. Social isolation, a major contributor to depression, is addressed through community-building strategies and family involvement. We also screen for medical mimics of depression (e.g., thyroid issues, vitamin deficiencies) to ensure holistic care.
